Ensuring remote work security with effective protection for Mobile device access
Check point harmony mobile is strong but could improve in reducing alert fatigue, sometimes we get too many notification which can overwhelm users and IT staff. Making alerts smarter or more customizable would help focus attention on the most critical threats. Also enhanced reporting with more detailed insights and easier integration with other security tools would be great. In the future versions adding AI-driven threat prediction and automated remediation could take the solution to the next level.

A market leader that integrates nicely with other McAfee security products and is quite stable
We are just customers and end-users. We are using the most up-to-date version available at this time. I'd advise potential new users that the key thing is to clearly understand what your requirements are and what your use cases are, and both your business requirements, your technical requirements, and your regulatory requirements. It's important to understand all of those. A company needs to clearly understand all the use cases it needs to manage and make sure they do the appropriate due diligence to find a product that can achieve all those requirements and handle all those use cases. It was an extensive process for us. We did about four to six months of paper-based due diligence - not even a field trial - to make that we were picking the right product. We leveraged a lot of outside vendor-neutral sources like Gartner. So far, I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It also enables us to see where privacy is a concern, apps that are leaking privacy. Having an idea as to how these apps are being protected offers some level of security to the device and back into our corporate network."
"First, the granular visibility of apps & traffic which we get through Check Point SandBlast Mobile are good. We can see each & every installed app & information for each app about severity & risk."
"Harmony Mobile presents many innovative features."
"Harmony Mobile's most valuable feature is the variety of capabilities in the platform, including allowing you to track device status."
"The solution has clients for both Android and Apple devices, so all of our employees' devices are protected."
"Management can see all devices on one panel and easily highlight any devices under threat."
"The Check Point SandBlast Mobile solution supports Android and iOS operating systems and allows for integration with Mobile Device Management (MDM)."
"The product's initial setup phase is very straightforward."
"The product is one of the market leaders, according to Gartner, on mobile protection."

Cons

"If possible, it would be better if they can include vulnerability management for applications. When a user installs many applications, if there is a way to manage a pack of applications, it would be helpful."
"Check Point Harmony Mobile lacks MDM capabilities, which are present in other MDM products, like IBM Security MaaS360, AirWatch, and Google Workspace."
"The admin portal is slightly clunky and sometimes shows a different status than what the device is actually doing."
"We don't have Google MDM being supported by the solution as of yet. It is a feature requirement... They are aware that it is something that I need. My objective is to be able to have the MDM integration and to have some level of control over the asset itself."
"In terms of what needs improvement, the web interface should be simplified. It should be more user-friendly. It's too technical."
"Harmony Mobile could be improved with increased built-in DLP coverage."
"From a user's perspective, of course, it is always better when it is cheaper in price."
"There could be more automation features for the solution."
"The one thing that I know that they're working on, that's not quite there in the product, is the artificial intelligence aspect."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Check Point Harmony Mobile's pricing is good."
"At the moment, the price is good, but there is always scope for amelioration when it comes to pricing. When pricing is lower, it can make a customer buy the product. Customers ask us about the price of the product before allowing us to explain the functionality to them."
"This is a very expensive product."
"We didn't actually purchase the software. It was given to us by Check Point. We are using it as a test bed for possible future customers."
"There is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the product. You can opt for a one-year, three-year, or five-year license."
"Choosing the correct set of licenses is essential because, without the additional software blade licenses, the Check Point gateways are just a stateful firewall."
"Check Point provides a separate license in cases where organizations want to use this only on mobile devices, or laptops/desktops."
"The price is okay. Per user, it should be something like five or ten dollars. But, we usually get discounts that drive the cost down."
